О чём эта песня
Песня — это исповедь о хронической внутренней пустоте и попытках заткнуть её чем угодно: славой, самоиронией, любовью и наркотиками. Название «Vacuum Boy» — метафора человека-пылесоса, который «всасывает» всё вокруг, но сам остаётся ничем; каламбур «I suck at everything» переводит пустоту в шутку, но шутку горькую. Настроение скачет между депрессивным нытьём (одиночество у радио, образ «злого 80-летнего старика с холодной подливой») и пафосным самоутверждением (сравнение с Мухаммедом Али), что показывает, как герой пытается себя взбодрить, но проваливается. Во втором куплете маска спадает: 37 таблеток, «бланты», кокаин и мотив гроба — всё, чем герой пытается заполнить себя, ведёт к саморазрушению. Итог печальный: любовь «не для всех», сердце и разум потеряны, а единственное, что остаётся, — констатация собственной пустоты.
