О чём эта песня
В песне Pale Waves звучит исповедь человека на эмоциональном дне: он стоит под дождём, чувствует себя чужим в собственной одежде, одиноким на вечеринке и настолько опустошённым, что любовь забыта, а жить помогают только «причины» — и это одновременно отчаянно и упрямо. Настроение качается от тоски и тревоги («страшно засыпать», «демоны», слабость до нехватки воздуха) к благодарности и надежде, потому что появляется тот, кто поднимает с пола, учит любить себя и становится лекарством и терапией. Ключевые образы здесь простые и телесные: дождь, падение, пол, ловящие руки, а приёмы — повторяющийся рефрен «Don't say, I'm gonna stay this way», антитеза «падаю — ловишь» и прямое обращение к спасительному «ты».
